Tabbed out below is the scale of G major played from the 6th string (E) starting at the 3rd fret. The arrangement of notes in all major scales is exactly the same. Play slowly through the scale using downstrokes at first.
As your left hand fingering becomes more confident, start to use alternate strokes - downstroke / upstroke.
